Memorizing Scripture

“For I am the Lord your God

who takes hold of your right hand

and says to you, Do not fear;

I will help you.” 

Isaiah 41:13 

“Continue to do these things. Give your life to doing them. Then everyone can see that your work is progressing.” 

1 Timothy 4:15

“Depend on the Lord. Trust in him, and he will help you.” 

Psalm 37:5

Memorizing Scripture is hard work. It takes effort. It takes patience. It takes dedication. 

Why?

• Jesus did it.

• We are commanded to do it.

• It transforms us.

• Helps us when we are faced with temptation.

• Creates intimacy with God.

• Encourage others.

•  To grow in wisdom.

• Helps us cultivate righteousness.

Memorizing Scripture is worth it in the end. When we are facing trials and hardships, when we need to remember His promises to us, when we need to help a friend in need.... scripture that we have memorized over the years will guide us.
